| Dengue (deng-ghee)
Ah, welcome to my nightmare. A tropical fever, carried by a special, striped, large species of mosquito has managed to inflict not only me, but my poor husband as well...
The problem with these dengue mosquitos, is that they bite during the day, hardly leave a mark and don't itch at all, that being a problem in that you don't know that you've been biten and infected until you can hardly stand with fever and headache.
Our life for the past two weeks has been a hazy blur of tylenol, thermometers, sleepless nights, chills, trips to the doctor and blood tests. I've missed almost two weeks of work and can't stand lying in bed. Dengue usually lasts about two weeks, but still leaves you weak and depressed.
So here I am, about a week into my stint with dengue, hoping my strong immune system will dramatically reduce my recovery time....
Until then........watch out for those mozzies!

| Here is my newest addition to my jewelry collection. I went today and got my nose pierced for a mere $4. And actually I didn't have to pay because my friend who took me paid for me! She has quite a reputation for persuading people to get their nose pierced! I think she's building a good rapport with the salon owner!
Anyways, here are some pics from about 30 minutes after piercing...

| School has started bells ringing, ordering the day, A/C's humming, children talking teachers planning, praying, pushing through the day...
What an adventure it's been so far, and after only two days of school. After a couple weeks of planning, getting into the classroom and actually connecting and engaging with the students is quite a challenge. I am teaching a range of subjects for year 7 - 10, which somtimes makes it hard to keep my thoughts straight! Each class is so different, my lesson plans have all been rather "flexible" according to each class! Some subjects should be quite easy for me to teach, and others will be very challenging.
Two things I have learned...
Have patience Cherish silence
In other news, check out our travelog site at http://www.livingbangladesh.com David has written a few blog entries and there are some pictures from our travels and Bangladesh! Enjoy!
